Meet Sarah Carlisle Stewart (she/her), also known as The Modern Nanny

With the background of a Behavioral Therapist and Researcher, she became a Nanny/ Family Assistant in the Silicon Valley, embracing the world of emotional negotiations and lunchroom politics, multiplication tables and forgotten homework, and kids who are fluent in sarcasm.

But like all noble high achieving Enneagram 3’s, Sarah hit burnout; And with nothing but memes left to give, Sarah did what any quietly spiraling millennial would do: start a public Instagram account.

The Modern Nanny— because “The Tired and Slightly Feral But Emotionally Insightful Meme Lord of Childcare With a Heroic Caffeine Tolerance” wouldn’t fit as an IG handle.

The Modern Nanny has quickly become a sanctuary of laughter and validation to nannies everywhere, since amassing 16K followers and counting—proving that just because you work in a coworkerless industry doesn’t mean you’re alone.

Using her research background, Sarah developed the Nanny Census Report surveying nannies on wages and benefits, education and experience, and retention and satisfaction. She has spoken at webinars for the International Nanny Association and the US Nanny Association and at International Nanny Training Day like Charlotte, North Carolina and San Diego, California.
